There’s a decent amount of talk going on about “glance-able information” in the form of dashboards and second-screens. The central idea is to use digital to be ambiently aware of information, or add commentary to your experience. They augment what you are currently doing. Not in an AR kind of way, just casually. backchannel

Bad Moon Rising
Playing with WordPress. I am trying to make a blog that fits together in a way that will encourage actual activity in me.
The best activity that I can hope for is to aggregate the things/thinks I have come across over the last week, or few days at best, and engage with them. At the moment, it is far too easy to flippantly race through whatever is new, bookmark it, digg it, get the app for it, pass a link on to friends/colleagues, but not truly engage with all the content.
I am as much a sinner as anyone with my rapid consumption of the new, and this is to ensure I ‘slow cook’ a bit more.
I am not entirely sure how this will pan out; I have had several blogs before – some moderately successful and some very short-lived. The aim is to look at two or three things that have passed through my online stream/life each week.
I would expect this to take in music, graphic design/visual communications, social media/data, cooking, video games, film/television and basically anything else that can sustain my attention long enough.
That is it for now. I am off.
